Quality Policy

To achieve our objective, we:

  • Ensure Ascot Group Business Management System is ISO 9001 compliant, updated and reviewed continually to reflect our operations, and ensure that we are exceeding statutory obligations and client requirements.
  • Ensure that the business invests adequate time and resources into the professional development of our staff which will help us achieve our current and future business objectives.
  • Set targets and measure performance to continually improve our processes

Every staff member has the responsibility to ensure that the intentions of this policy statement are understood, applied and maintained within their own activity area.

Ascot Group are committed:

Management has the ultimate responsibility to maintain the quality policy and shall promote all initiatives to attain and improve quality to:

  • give all personnel adequate information and training to enable all tasks to be undertaken with a consistent standard of quality.
  • ensure that excellent relations between the Company and employees are maintained.

Occupational Health and Safety Policy

Ascot Group are firmly committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for employees, labour hire staff, contractors, subcontractors, visitors and all other persons whose health or safety could be at risk through our work. We will do this by ensuring:

  • Compliance with relevant legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 and supporting regulations, are met.
  • The implementation of the Ascot Group Site Safety Plan and the policies, procedures and programs necessary to support and implement this policy.

As Ascot Group accepts responsibility for implementing and maintaining this OHS policy and OHS management system, we will ensure that:

  • Regular workplace safety inspections are conducted on all projects and the prompt control of identified hazards is undertaken.
  • Employees are trained on all health and safety matters relevant to their work and that contractors are fully aware of the hazards associated with their work and hazard control measures.
  • All managers, supervisors, employees, contractors and other persons are inducted into the requirements for the Site Safety Plan, and will be held accountable for enacting their roles and responsibilities as defined in the Site Safety Plan.
  • Effective employee/contractor consultation on health and safety matters shall include two-way communication of relevant information, toolbox meetings, reporting and feedback mechanisms.
  • Adequate resources are provided to enable full implementation of this OHS policy and the Site Safety Plan. Where Ascot Group does not have the necessary in-house knowledge or expertise to enable it to meet its occupational health and safety objectives, Ascot Group will ensure that advice and guidance are obtained from competent occupational health and safety professionals.
  • This OHS Policy and Site Safety Plan are reviewed every year to ensure they remain relevant to and appropriate to the organisation.

All company employee and contractors are required to comply with this OHS policy and the Ascot Group Site Safety Plan at all times. Senior managers and supervisors are responsible for the implementation and dissemination of all matters dealing with the health and safety of employees and contractors under their control.

Employees must co-operate with the employer with regard to OHS actions taken by the employer to maintain safety. In addition, employees shall take reasonable care for their own safety and not adversely affect the safety of others at the workplace. A copy of this OHS Policy shall be retained at all Ascot Group offices and sites.

Environmental Policy

Ascot Group endeavours to minimise all environmental impacts where possible and achieve continuing improvement to the reduction and prevention of pollution. The environmental management plan is designed to ensure compliance with all Commonwealth, State and Local Council requirements pertaining to specific job types. Ascot Group firmly believe its Environment Policy will deliver a positive social, environmental and economic outcome for the wider community. In support of the environmental monitoring and audit plans, senior management or supervisor on site shall observe and record general observations and activities associated with the environment. By adopting an environmentally aware approach, Ascot Group aims to:

  • Reduce waste from materials used in construction.
  • Minimise and avoid any environmental damage.
  • Prevent community exposure to any health hazard and risks.
  • Protect and preserve existing environment.
  • Minimise our carbon footprint.
  • Minimizing the amount of run off from site when work is undertaken in close proximity to stormwater drains.

Ascot Group shall ensure all employees and subcontractors are aware of the principal contractor’s emergency preparedness plan and procedures on site. The emergency evacuation process, the emergency firefighting system and the emergency plans for spillage containment shall be included in all site inductions.

A full recording system will be completed regularly. The aspects and impact register shall be maintained and completed by our site OHS representative with the following information:

  • Identified environmental risk (aspects) and their controls.
  • Responsibility for actioning.
