We deliver shelter-in-place and campus upgrade projects across Victoria – but at Bullarto Primary, a school on the edge of the Wombat State Forest, the standout moment came from outside the original scope. With curious students watching the works take shape, the crew learned the kids were fundraising for a gaga pit, a timber hexagon structure filled with sand, by selling toasties and hot drinks at recess.
The timber cost little, but the difference it made was immediate: the crew built the gaga pit alongside the main project and watched the students’ reaction on completion. It was a small addition to the job, but a memorable one for everyone on site.
Delivered to the school’s full satisfaction and as a mark of thanks, Bullarto Primary invited the crew back to install a brass plaque acknowledging Ascot Group’s contribution.
